Publisher's Summary

The best-selling and ABIA Award shortlisted memoir from Osher Gunsberg, one of Australia's most loved celebrities, about life, love and living with mental illness—powerful, dark, funny, and heart-wrenching.

It's hard to remember a time when Osher Gunsberg (or Andrew G as he was then) wasn't on TV—he's just always been there, looking at ease in the spotlight, beaming a big smile, with a questionable haircut. He was there hanging out with The Offspring backstage at the Warped Tour on Channel V; announcing to a national audience of three million people that Guy Sebastian was our first Australian Idol; and later capturing the heart of the nation by hosting every season of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and now Bachelor in Paradise.

But while everything looks great from the outside, the real picture has not always been quite so rosy. Osher has always known he's different to most other people. Struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, and weight issues since he was young, he tried for years to drink away the anxiety and depression. He ended up unemployed, divorced, suicidal, and certifiable on the other side of the world, yet somehow he managed to put the broken pieces of his mind back together and make a life for himself again. He lives with a mental illness—and he's come to terms with it to live an authentic, rich, and fulfilling life.

An honest, revealing, raw, funny, and heartfelt memoir from one of Australia's most well-known and well-liked celebrities—now with two new, additional chapters.

Amazing read

Hearing Osher share his own story made it all the more better. It’s raw. It’s honest. It’s authentic. I learnt more about myself through hearing his excellent story. It’s not about the pain or the tragedy, it’s about overcoming and finding his life again. I’m so grateful to have read it.

An amazing insight to mental illness and addiction

While it was difficult to start, I am so glad I finished listening to this book. It was raw, honest and allowed the opportunity to understand the perspective of someone's rise to fame and the struggles that went with it.
Not an easy ride but so glad he shared his story!

My heart is full

I didn't know much about the man behind the rose ceremony but I'm so glad I clicked buy on this one. I couldn't stop listening and smashed through this book in a day. Normally I don't rate books about people in the fellowship but I can see the value of Osher telling his story to help others. He is so humble and relateable. It was so perfect.

Loved it

This was my first audiobook and it’s set the bar pretty high. I’ve never been a fan of “Andrew G” but my opinion has changed. Very inspirational and resonates with aspects of my life. But slow to start but well worth pushing through the start.

Very much worth the listen

This audiobook has been amazing to listen to. it's brought back a lot of memories and some hard stuff but it's also helped me understand some of that stuff which i really appreciate. Osher's telling of the story is fantastic. It's the kind of narrative that only the person who has lived it should tell. absolutely worth listening to. And just quietly I think I will also buy the hard copy.

Fantastic listen. Highly recommend!

As a familiar face on our tv screens, we always watched a happy and outgoing personality do his job, with no idea of the struggles he faced daily. This book is a great reminder that we never truly know what someone else is dealing with.

Back, After the Break

This was a great read! I have been watching Osher on TV for years now. It was lovely to hear him narrate this own story, you get a couple of hidden gems in the Audible version when his wife corrects him on some of the content of the book :)
Well worth reading.

Excellent book, superb reading performance.

I’m not a fan of the shows Osher hosts, but I do know of him from Chanel V .
The book was insightful and a very interesting retelling of the struggle and recovery from poor mental health.
Read by a true professional voiceover artist (Osher himself) but still from the heart
