Life suddenly changes for Jazz when she receives an inheritance from her long lost grandfather. She bids farewell to her job at Happy Days Burgers and sets out to convert Blackwell Rest into a nightclub. It would seem that her estranged grandfather's accidental death, might not have been an accident. If this isn't bad enough, old man Blackwell's pet monkey now needs a home, and the ghosts that come along with her inheritance, need a new psychic detective to help them.

Being a reaper isn't nearly as easy as flipping hamburgers, but Jazz has never been one to shrug off responsibility. Still, she isn't happy about visiting the state penitentiary to reap the soul of a serial killer. Years ago, Theodore Salazar killed two people near the Eastwood River, but that's all over and done with. With the infamous serial killer dead, the city can breathe a sigh of relief.

The circus is in town and Sir Edward has decided to run away and join them. To make matters worse, the murders start as soon as the Gustav Brothers' Circus pulls into town. There are plenty of suspects with motive, but with a circus full of freaks, finding the killer might not be so easy. With a runaway monkey and killer freaks running amok, things couldn't get much worse, or so she thinks, but that's just the beginning of the chaos. Life has some interesting twists in store for reaper, Jazz Sweeney.

Trouble is brewing in Eastwood. Jazz can’t help but wonder if the bride that haunts Bridal Falls might be behind the strange deaths of two men, both of which were about to walk down the aisle. When Lyndy is left standing at the altar, and her groom is nowhere to be found, the disappearing groom drama gets personal. And then things take a really bad turn. Brock is falsely accused of murder, but the police don’t stop there. Now they think Lyndy might have killed her husband to be. 

My name is Jazz, and I’m a reaper. That sounds dark, but it’s not so bad. I’m a justice reaper, which means I send bad guys away for a very long time. This also means that when the police need help to catch bad guys, I sometimes have no choice but to step in and do my part. Just after my best friend joins a coven, someone decides to start murdering witches, and it sure looks like the killer might actually be a vampire.
