Summary

Earth has been attacked not once, but twice by an alien race. The military are desperate to avoid a third onslaught and are looking for a new leader who can fight the vicious insectoid species if they return.

Enter Ender Wiggin, a shy six-year-old boy genius (actually third in a family of child geniuses), genetically bred to be an interstellar warrior. Can he lead the human race in a fight for survival?

With the weight of the entire planet on his shoulders, Ender is taken from his family to a Battle School orbiting the earth. It is here he hones his tactical combat skills in preparation for the imminent extraterrestrial war.

But life in the Battle School isn’t a walk in the park. Ender must participate in brutal challenges, including simulated war games in zero gravity. On top of that, the other students are furious with him for the controversial way he made it into the school.

And it’s only a matter of time before Ender will have to face off against the Buggers in a battle that seems all but impossible....

In this pause-resistant audiobook, the journey of Andrew ‘Ender’ Wiggin is brought alive by a sweeping, full cast dramatisation that features 40 actors reading more than 100 roles, complete with sound effects and an original musical score.

Surely one of the most ambitious audio productions ever, Orson Scott Card personally wrote the script and says, 'the ideal presentation of any book of mine is to have excellent actors perform it in audio-only format!'

With the first book published in 1985, the Enderverse is now a 16 novel series. The first two of which both won the Hugo and Nebula Awards. In 2013, a film version grossed $125.5 million worldwide.

In 1991, Card released an updated version of Ender’s Game. Times had changed, and a rewrite was needed to more accurately reflect current events - including the recent collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War. The book has also become suggested reading for the United States Marine Corps.
