Life of Bailey

After a bicycle accident makes Bailey's daddy nervous about the road and cars, Bailey’s daddy decides to try to train him to be a service dog to help him through some hard times. In this story, Bailey gets more and more curious about the world around him as he grows up. Bailey’s daddy tries to train Bailey to sit quietly in noisy places and how to be friendly to all the new people he meets, including a baby! Bailey enjoys learning his new manners mostly when he can help his daddy relax. 

In this story, Bailey visits a sailing club with his Daddy and learns how to sail on a big catamaran! At first, he is very nervous about the deep open water and the rocking boat, but after an adventure at the dog circus and the park and a few surprises along the way, Bailey begins to feel much more comfortable by the water. 

Bailey is a growing service puppy who spends his life learning new things, visiting exciting places, and meeting different people! At the beginning of his first fall season, Bailey’s Daddy decides to take him to a big forest filled with red, orange, and yellow leaves.

When a new angry dog moves into Bailey's neighbourhood, Bailey feels too nervous to go outside and play, in case he bumps into the angry dog. After talking with a police officer and a bunch of exciting adventures to train Bailey, including riding next to Daddy’s bicycle and playing hide and seek, Bailey learns to stand up to the bully. When a worldwide pandemic starts to change life for Bailey and his Daddy and Mommy, the happy family is forced to get used to living life a different way. When Bailey is not allowed to play with other dogs and people, and rather spends his days inside, Bailey struggles to understand why his life is changing. After he learns how to talk to Mommy and Daddy about how he is feeling, Bailey learns that there are always new adventures to be had. 

The snow has started to fall, and the holiday season has begun in Canada. As the weather gets cooler, things start to change around Bailey’s house. Mommy and Daddy take Bailey to a new place, they put a big green tree in the living room, and they light candles on the coffee table. Bailey even gets a new present that he can use with his Daddy. Bailey is confused with all of this change at first, but he feels safe knowing that everyone around him is happy, and that Mommy and Daddy and their families are spending time together.

After Bailey’s mommy and daddy meet a surfing dog in Costa Rica, they get a good idea: Why not try to teach Bailey how to surf too? Back home in Canada, Mommy organizes a visit to a friend who lives by a wavy lake, and Daddy plans out how he is going to teach Bailey how to surf. Starting by sniffing Daddy’s surfboard, to eating treats off of it, Bailey eventually learns how to balance on the surfboard in the water. When Bailey gets nervous about the moving water and big waves, Daddy and Mommy fear Bailey might not enjoy surfing.

Bailey prepares for his first flight on an airplane, but the day of departure bound for Costa Rica doesn't go as planned. Bailey falls in love with seeing the ocean for the first time and looks forward to new adventures with his family!
