A Hollywood Murder

Kelly Canyon wants to be an investigative journalist and takes photos of celebrities to pay the bills. When an actress is murdered following an interview by Kelly, she and Brock Handsome, uh, Hanson are the primary suspects. Mishap and hilarity ensue as Kelly is roped into clearing her name, helping the police catch a killer, and keep herself from being another notch in the belt of Hollywood's Golden Boy. She never intended to star in a movie. Nope. Nada. Yep.

Kelly Canyon still doesn't know her chosen career path, but she is paying her bills by acting and taking photographs of celebrity pets. Her first book, based on the previous murder of a Hollywood starlet, promises to be a best seller. Now, Kelly finds herself embroiled in another murder investigation rife with twists and turns, secrets, and deception. 

Kelly Canyon’s grandmother, Ruthie, is finally achieving her dream and receiving a lifetime achievement award for her years of acting. Unfortunately, someone wants Ruthie dead and takes a shot at her while she’s standing on stage. Pandemonium reigns as Brock Hanson, Kelly’s famous boyfriend, tackles Ruthie to the floor. Kelly finds the dead body of the theater’s janitor in a darkened hallway and clues lead to the man’s death being linked to the murder of Kelly’s father years before, and it seems Ruthie knows something she isn’t aware she knows.

With their television crime drama up for an award, Kelly Canyon and her grandmother Ruthie are smack dab in the middle of Hollywood’s social scene. Things were going great until they found a body floating facedown in their pool. As Kelly sets out to solve the crime, and write another best-selling novel in the meantime, she finds herself running for her life one step ahead of the person responsible for her father’s murder when she was a child.
