Blamed for the accidental deaths of two family members, Akuleh—Ku to his friends—flees his shamanic society to fight in an interstellar war. An excellent bush pilot, he gets accepted for flight training, even though he’s underage—a quality that makes him the target of abuse from many of his peers.

The enormous aliens known as Gimfa attacked the planet Lewa, and the Guardians thought they took them down. But instead, the aliens established a beachhead on the colony world and are readying a larger army to eliminate humanity once and for all. More of the advanced Guardians are in development and may be ready to stand alongside Vortex Stingray and the others as the Galactic Alliance joins humanity’s effort to clear Lewa of the Gimfa.

Lieutenant Paul Anderson is a Guardian driver, able to pilot the massive, thirty-meter-tall mecha “Point Break” from his cockpit high above the ground. There are only two problems—the Alliance won’t let him arm the giant mecha, and even if he could, he’s a long way from where any of the fighting is occurring. When Paul learns his mother’s been killed on Lewa, he wants to get some payback… but he can’t.
