Non sa che è già troppo tardi e che forze oscure sono all'opera per portare a termine una terribile maledizione.

Little Women is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott (1832–1888) which was originally published in two volumes in 1868 and 1869. Alcott wrote the book over several months at the request of her publisher. The story follows the lives of the four March sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy - and details their passage from childhood to womanhood. It is loosely based on the lives of the author and her three sisters.

La pequeña Betty es una niña risueña y cariñosa que vive en el bosque en una vieja cabaña con su padre y su vaca Daisy, y todas las aves del bosque son sus amigas. The short story, "An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving" by Louisa May Alcott first appeared in the collection Aunt Jo's Scrap Bag. Set in New Hampshire in the 1800s, it is a simple, yet charming story of a family Thanksgiving in an earlier, more innocent time. When their parents are called away to visit a sick relative, the girls try to put together a Thanksgiving dinner all on their own. Of course a few things go wrong, as this is the first time the children cook such a big dinner, but ultimately, all turns out well, and there’s much to be thankful for.

Published in 1871, Little Men is a sequel to the novel, Little Women. It tells the continuing story of Jo March, who has married Professor Bhaer, with whom she now runs a small school.

In this touching New Year's story, a family discovers another family nearby who is starving. They take food and milk and warm clothes and see to it that the poor family enjoys a very happy breakfast.
