The Royal Botanic Gardens in London are lovely, no doubt. Many people wander down the flowered path; couples with children, young men with their elders, working class woman, and dating couples. Regardless of their circumstances, they all take in the beauty around them.

In this short story, Virgina Woolf writes about a “steam of consciousness” of a person enjoying music. Our narrator hears a string quartet and is entranced by the players, their movements, and their song.

Non di poca importanza la passione che spinge il protagonista ad attraversare ogni avventura: la scrittura, la poesia, e che permette alla Woolf di scrivere nel suo modo ironico e geniale di poesia e di letteratura ella stessa.
