"Una Pequena Nube", por James Joyce, es la historia de dos hombres, dos amigos de infancia que se encuentran luego de muchos anos para beber juntos. Es una historia sobre el contraste de sus vidas, sobre la envidia, la hipocresia y la inconformidad.

"Eveline" es la historia de una muchacha que debe escoger entre su vida actual, (siguiendo la promesa que le hizo a su madre antes de que esta muriera), y escapar a Buenos Aires con su novio, hacia una nueva vida.

"Después de la Carrera" puede entenderse superficialmente como la historia de un grupo de mozalbetes de distintas nacionalidades que viven una vida disipada, compitiendo en carreras de autos y jugando a las cartas. Sin embargo, la historia es un simbolismo sobre distintas naciones y su rol en la carrera politica que vivia el mundo en los tiempos de Joyce, muy similar a la nuestra, actual.
