Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Burnett is a children's classic. The story is about a young boy named Cedric who lives with his mother in a tiny cottage in New York after his father dies. Luckily for Cedric, a lawyer finds him and tells him that he is the heir to the title of earl and a vast estate in England. His grandfather, the Earl of Dorincourt, has sent for him, and it is his grandfather's wish that Cedric come to the estate to learn to be an aristocrat with the new title Lord Fauntleroy.

Mary, a lonely orphaned girl sent to a Yorkshire mansion at the edge of a vast, lonely moor. At first she is frightened by this gloomy place until she meets a local boy, Dickon, who's earned the trust of the moor's wild animals; the invalid Colin, an unhappy boy terrified of life; and a mysterious, abandoned garden....

Since its first publication in 1885, Little Lord Fauntleroy has become a favorite with children. The move from New York to his ancestral castle comes as a shock to both Cedric and his new-found relatives, and while he comes to terms with aristocratic ways, they become more aware of compassion and social justice.

Sara Crew is the spoiled little daughter of rich parents. After her mother's death, she is sent to a "Select Seminary For Young Ladies". Then, Sara suddenly loses her father and money and faces the misery of existing on charity.
