I made a mistake buying this house. It needs work, more than I am capable of, and I can’t afford to hire anyone. I figure that I’m screwed… until my neighbor offers me a deal. He’ll do the renovations, if I pretend to be his girlfriend for Thanksgiving with his family.

I need a break. I’ve spent this last year working hard to get my business off the ground and to settle into my new apartment and town. All work and no play though has made me a dull girl. Now I’m looking to change that and I know just how to do it. With Ryder Murray.

I have three problems. The first is my grumpy boss, Hendrix, making my job ten times harder. The second is Claire and her mean girl clique in town. The third problem is my biggest. See, I just lied and told everyone in town that Hendrix, and I have been secretly dating. I only did it to get Claire and her friends to stop making jokes about me being perpetually single. Now I’m just hoping that Hendrix never finds out what I did.

When Warren moves in next door to me, I’m instantly drawn to the scarred giant. I know right away that he’s meant to be mine. Too bad for me, he’s playing hard to get.

I’m a dog person. So, how did I wind up fostering fifteen cats? The answer to that is Winnie Mae. She runs the local animal shelter and when someone starts a fire there, I rescue her and the cats. When she told me that they had nowhere else to go, I volunteered to take them. Why would I do that? Well, because I’m in love with Winnie.

For as long as I can remember, Ansel has been my protector. In middle school, he was the tall, strong, boy who kept my bullies at bay. In high school, he was the only one brave enough to stand up to my stepdad. That was when I realized I loved him. I almost told him, too. But then he left. He joined the Marines and vanished from my life, leaving me behind in our small town. I thought I’d never see him again, but now he’s back, and the moment I lay eyes on him, I know that I’m still completely, hopelessly in love with him.

When my rental house gets condemned, I’m not exactly surprised. I mean, the place was always a dump, but it was all that I could afford. Now I have a problem. I need to find a new place to live, which is easier said than done in a small town like Wolf Valley. Then I learn that the new guy in town is looking for a roommate. He may just be the answer to my problem… and the man of my dreams.

When I got the first letter from my secret admirer, I was flattered. With the second, I grew intrigued. By the third, I’m starting to fall in love with him. I wish that I could meet him in person, but I don’t know how to arrange that.

Opening my own design firm in Lilac Harbor was hard, but things are finally starting to break my way. Then, I meet my new neighbor and the bane of my existence. Wade Collins. He's a grumpy jerk. He's also my partner for a big remodel that I've been hired for. Working with Wade will be difficult, but nothing that I can't handle. Except, the more time that I spend with him, the more that I start to like him. Who knows, maybe by the end of this project, we can even be friends.
