This guerilla-glue release is a novella that tells the story of a woman who needs a night out and seeks out laughter as the therapy she’s convinced she needs to change her life. Will Shika stay focused and rise above? Will she seize opportunities to free herself? Is it already too late for her life to change drastically? Can she find the restorative healing she seeks just by visiting a comedy club for one night?

A novella exploring the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, this addictive story offers a mix of comedy, conspiracy and Chicagoans that provides listeners a fresh perspective on a long-held belief. “I love history! And, being a former Girl Scout who sang the camp song about ‘Old Lady O’Leary’ as a little girl, I wondered often if the story was made up or real,” the artistpreneur confesses.

A nostalgic story of a contemporary tragedy, Jaza penned this work to showcase the bonds created within families despite the bad experiences during (and scars remaining throughout) childhood and adulthood.

Inspired by a conversation with author and motivational speaker Antonio Wright, STOP AND TIE YOUR SHOES (edited by Dr. Mary M. Jefferson) is Mylia Tiye Mal Jaza's 12th published book.
