The Revolutionary is the story of Weldon, a young working-class man caught up in the revolutionary fervor of the late '60's. In a Chicago riot Weldon runs over a policeman and successfully escapes with a couple of committed anarchists while tripping on acid. Weldon escapes from the two and attempts to retire from the revolution. It turns out to be a bigger cultural reality of drugs and sex than anticipated. The philosophy of anarchy and hedonism so powerfully attractive during the era led Weldon on to more fear and isolation.
