I needed a miracle. What I got was a cocky, late-as-hell comedian with too many jokes and a smile that could ruin lives. When she told me that they had nowhere else to go, I volunteered to take them. Why would I do that? Well, because I’m in love with Winnie.

For as long as I can remember, Ansel has been my protector. In middle school, he was the tall, strong, boy who kept my bullies at bay. In high school, he was the only one brave enough to stand up to my stepdad. That was when I realized I loved him. I almost told him, too. But then he left. He joined the Marines and vanished from my life, leaving me behind in our small town. I thought I’d never see him again, but now he’s back, and the moment I lay eyes on him, I know that I’m still completely, hopelessly in love with him.

When my rental house gets condemned, I’m not exactly surprised. I mean, the place was always a dump, but it was all that I could afford. Now I have a problem. I need to find a new place to live, which is easier said than done in a small town like Wolf Valley. Then I learn that the new guy in town is looking for a roommate. He may just be the answer to my problem… and the man of my dreams.
