Jacob Underwood is not like other people. He has Cotard's syndrome. He believes he is dead. John Starkweather feels restless. The inactivity comes to an abrupt end when a rougarou attacks John’s estranged grandfather. Even though he hasn’t seen his family since he was a teen, John can’t pass up the opportunity to reconnect.

Federal agent John Starkweather’s parents are dead. Or at least - the people he remembered as his parents. With his very identity in question, John must look elsewhere for answers. The now-defunct Center for Loving Redemption may provide the clues he needs. But as John’s true memories begin to resurface, the answers prove worse than he ever imagined.

Hawk Koch is a renowned film producer who has served as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
