Ayant vécu jusqu'à l'âge de 80 ans, il nous fait traverser l'Histoire, et vivre page après page l'évolution des Etats-Unis, la Révolution Française, puis le Consulat. Chateaubriand dresse également les portraits de Napoléon, Thiers et Talleyrand, entre autres.

Meditations on First Philosophy in which the existence of God and the immortality of the soul are demonstrated is a philosophical treatise by René Descartes first published in Latin in 1641. The book is made up of six meditations, in which Descartes first discards all belief in things that are not absolutely certain and then tries to establish what can be known for sure. He wrote the meditations as if he had meditated for six days: Each meditation refers to the last one as "yesterday". It continues to be one of the most influential philosophical texts ever written.

Aliens in the Mind is based on a story by the then-foremost Doctor Who script editor Robert Holmes. It centres around the discovery, on a remote Scottish island, of a community of 'human mutants' capable of telepathy. A plan is in place to use them to control the British Government, and friends Curtis Lark (Vincent Price) and Hugh Baxter (Peter Cushing) join forces to combat them.
