Efemerides en el Comite; es la historia de un partido poltico en medio de una campana electoral. La historia tiene lugar en el local de esta campana, en el que se renen hombres con ambicion pero sin impulsos. Es una representacion de la clase politica Irlandesa, y de la iglesia. Como todas las historias de Joyce esta tambien esta llena de simbolismos.

Arabia nos narra el amor de un muchacho dublines por una muchacha de su barrio, y las peripecias que el primero debe pasar para encontrarla en una feria llamada Arabia. La historia describe muy bien la dinamica de una familia Irlandesa, con caracteristicas muy comunes a muchas otras culturas.
