Bounty hunter John Smoke has been at a loss ever since Sidney Shaw's abrupt departure. After weeks of finding no trace of her, Smoke has an unanticipated encounter with Reginald, the doppelganger. Smoke discovers that if he wants to see Sid again, he needs to perform a mission: hunt down and take out a rival criminal underworld called the Many. He finds out that he has been played, but he has no choice but to go along with it if he wants to see Sidney again.

Now that Sidney is no longer an FBI agent, she is restless. Not knowing what to do with herself, she leaves Megan with the grandparents so she can have some time alone to figure things out. During a visit to the shooting range, things get interesting when an old guy called Big Jake outshoots Sid and then saves her from two huge goons who smell like the Drake. Matters take a turn for the worst soon after when Big Jake turns up dead.

Sidney thinks she’s getting the hang of things only to find herself at odds once again with her annoying and unappreciative supervisor, Cyrus Tweel. To make matters worse, there’s been no talk about the Black Slate or the whereabouts of Smoke, leaving her in the dark and feeling more isolated than ever. During a stakeout with Cyrus, strange things begin to emerge. Black suns and oddly familiar children begin to show up. The Drake’s fingerprints seem to be on everything with which she’s involved.

With Venir imprisoned at the Outpost, who will step forward to protect Bish from the rising tide of underlings? Who will save Venir? What about the City of Bone? Have underling Lords Catten, Verbard and Master Kierway taken it over? Kam the mage and Lefty Lightfoot struggle to find a way out of The Nest, but will they need the help of a far more dangerous ally? What hand, if any, will Scorch have in all of this? Venir is pushed to his limits in the Outlands: battling underlings and trying to find a way to staunch the underling armies that are quickly spreading from one corner of Bish to the other. Detective Melegal, struggling to get his life back under control, finds himself with more responsibility that he ever asked for. Not only does his life hang in the balance, but the fate of many others as well. Will his actions save them or spell doom for them all?

The Hour of the Dragon has come. Nath's mortal powers are at their zenith as he and his friends prepare to save Balzurth from the clutches of the titan king Eckubahn. Bayzog reveals to Nath the only way to save Balzurth. The journey will take them back to Narnum where Balzurth body must be retrieved. But Lotuus and Eckubahn are ready for anything.

Detective Melegal remains neck deep in Royal Games, trying to hunt down the Slergs, who have Venir's son Brak in tow, as well as trying to enact his own personal vengeance on the Cleric Sefron. Mood the Blood Ranger and Fogle Boon have traveled deep into the bitter cold of the Nameless Mountains in hopes of finding a druid that can provide a cure for the dying two-headed dog, Chongo. But the mountains are full of dangers and surprises that even the brilliant mind of the mage Fogle Boon could never have anticipated.

Nath Dragon and his allies must take on the all-powerful Titan Army at the Dragon Home, aka the Mountain of Doom. But can he and Selene escape the Deep in time? An extremely powerful titan wurmer must be brought down in order for them to arrive in time to aid their friends. Sasha, Rerry and Samaz must learn to move on in life without Bayzog.

Lotuus the Fairy Empress's plans unfold with Nath Dragon's life hanging on the line, Will Brenwar and his friends rally to save him? Will they come to their deluded senses in time? To make matters worse, countless Wurmers fill the skies above the Corridor presenting even greater danger.

Nath leads his comrades into a deadly clash with the wurmers. The titan army grows. Wurmers fill the skies. The lands of the elves, Elome, have a fully equipped titan army surrounding them. Armed with the Orbs of Destruction, Nath and Selene venture west to take down another nest. Sansla Libor and the Roamers, equipped with the Ocular of Orray, head north to take down one another. Will they be able to fight the plethora of obstacles and destroy the nests before elven capitol Elome is destroyed?

With the dragon king Balzurth, dead at the hands of the titans Eckubahn and Isobahn, it's up to Nath Dragon to take his father's throne. The task makes him uneasy as he must lead the dragons against the evil forces of the titans and wurmers. Inside his gut, Nath knows that something is wrong. How can he be the dragon king when he can't even turn into a dragon himself? His doubts continue to consume him.

As Venir struggles to survive the wrath of the underlings, Fogle Boon the Wizard and Mood the Blood Ranger continue the search for their missing comrade. But how will they find a man that completely disappeared from Bish without a trace? Back in the City of Bone, Melegal the thief is pushed to the limits under the thumb of the powerful Royal Lord Almen.

Bish is the land of constant strife and turmoil. The rise and fall of the blazing suns make the days long and the people disagreeable. Its barren Outlands are as comforting as a bed of thorns as there is little sanctuary to be found in the sweltering forests or the dank caves below the ground. Its caviling cities are overrun with death, greed, and corruption, but few complain. It is a place where tempers flare and alliances last as long as a tankard of ale. A place where good doesn't thrive, it endures.

Only the Darkslayer's death will do! After tasting defeat at the hands of the mythic Darkslayer, the underling Lords Catten and Verbard are determined to once and for all eliminate this thorn in their side. But they'll have to wait their turn. After a brutal trip through the Outlands, the brash warrior Venir – a.k.a. the Darkslayer - returns to the City of Bone and faces threats from the Royal Houses of Bone, man-urchins, shadow sentries, and two dark figures that he'd left for dead once before.

Nath Dragon's father, Balzurth, has disappeared and delivered himself into the hands the titan leader, Eckubahn. It's up to Nath Dragon and his comrades to save his father before the entire world of Nalzambor is turned upside down. In the meantime, the elves and dwarves are still hunting Nath Dragon. They want to bring him to justice for the murders of their leaders. What will Nath do when there is nowhere to run and he must face his fate?

The Truce has crumbled and Nath Dragon must face his most fatal foe, Gorn Grattack. Can he do it alone? Is the High Priestess Selene now a friend, ally, or a bitter enemy? Nath only has moments to figure that out before the final claws close in. Alone, against the most merciless monster in all of Nalzambor, Nath Dragon stands tall. But will it be enough?

Captive to Selene and the five-year Truce, Nath itches to know that his friends are well. Yet he can't seem to change into dragon form again. Maybe if he jumps from this balcony... Brenwar, Pilpin, Shum, and Hoven see the signs that the Dragon King is rallying his dragon army. Gorlee feels drawn to The Deep, certain he will regain his memories down there.

The struggle continues ... Times have become more perilous in Nalzambor for everyone, especially Nath Dragon and his friends. Departing from the Floating City, Nath Dragon's patience is put to the test.

But the peaceful River Folk are also controlled by the soldiers of Barnabus, and Nath and company struggle to find allies among them. And what terror lies in the Floating City, the key to it all? Can Nath Dragon find his way in and find a way out again?

Ravaged by war, Nalzambor needs a hero. The once vibrant world, filled with peace and beauty, is collapsing underneath the crushing boots of the armies of Barnabus. Fear and disorder rule. Traveling the lands, Nath Dragon, Brenwar the dwarf, Bayzog the wizard, Gorlee the changeling, Ben the warrior, and their dwarven friends begin liberating the towns and villages on their own. Hope and success follow but not without notice.
