36 Lichtjahre von der Erde entfernt kreist um den Riesenstern Arkturos ein Planet, der von seinen menschenähnlichen Bewohnern Zetari genannt wird. Prinzessin Byra leitet im Namen ihres alten Vaters die Geschicke dieser an Kristallen und Edelsteinen reichen Juwelenwelt.

Auf dem Planeten Pollux 4, 40 Lichtjahre von der Erde entfernt, hat Zordak, der Weltraumpirat, seinen Stützpunkt. Von hier aus kontrolliert er mit seinem Schlachtschiff "Black Dragon" eine Reihe von Welten, die er zum Teil unterworfen hat, zum Teil immer wieder ausplündert. Die beiden auf der Erde schon für tot erklärten Raumfahrer Perry Cooper und Tom Morton verweilen zurzeit auf der Juwelenwelt Zetari und sind im Dienste der Prinzessin Byra tätig. Diese rechnet damit, dass Zordak alles versuchen wird Terra und Zetari zu vernichten.

Bikerman bekommt einen Anruf von einem gewissen Zarusky, angeblich ein Bewohner des Nebenhauses. Dieser will sich unbedingt mit Bikerman persönlich treffen, denn es geht um Geld - um viel Geld und um einen geraubten Schatz. Aber es geht um noch viel mehr, doch da hört Bikerman plötzlich nur noch Schreie durchs Telefon, als wenn jemand niedergeschlagen würde, und schließlich bricht die Verbindung ab. Dies verspricht ein weiterer spannender Fall für Bikerman und sein Supermotorrad CAT zu werden.

Sita, die Tochter des ermordeten Chemikers Prof. Regal, hält den Schlüssel für Krieg oder Frieden in der Hand. Von ihr hängt es ab, ob Erdöl gefördert werden kann oder nicht. Der Professor machte zwei Erfindungen: Die erste sollte die Regierung in die Lage versetzen, sich vor fremden Interessenten zu schützen. Es handelt sich dabei um eine chemische Formel, die Erdöl neutralisiert und somit das schwarze Gold unbrauchbar macht. Aber es gibt auch ein Gegenmittel, das diese chemische Reaktion wieder rückgängig macht.

Ein Geophysiker namens Rooney kommt ins Büro des Privatdetektivs Bikerman, um ihm über seine angebliche Enkelin Linda zu erzählen. Er verdächtigt ihren Mann, der wie sich später herausstellen sollte Ulan, ein lang gesuchter Verbrecher ist, seine Enkelin um die Ecke bringen zu wollen. Da funkt CAT, Bikermans Supermotorrad, soeben zwei dubiose Gestalten beobachtet zu haben, die gerade einen verdächtigen Koffer auf Rooneys Auto, in dem sich noch Linda befindet, gelegt haben.

Es geht schon um eine recht schlimme Sache in unserer Geschichte. Der alte Lukas, ein bis dahin harmloser Einsiedler, soll einen Mord begangen haben. Doch Doktor Dolittle glaubt an die Unschuld des Angeklagten und übernimmt dessen Verteidigung vor Gericht. Doch mehr sei jetzt nicht verraten. Werdet selbst Zuhörer des Prozesses, in dessen spannendem Verlauf die Bulldogge Bob und "der Hund des Richters" dem Recht zum Sieg verhelfen.
