The original three volume set of The Spiritual Man by Watchman Nee serves as a guide, not as a manual, to walk in spiritual life as well as to fight the spiritual warfare. It was written under tremendous spiritual conflict. Only through the grace of God and the victory of Christ was Watchman Nee able to finish the writing. Now having become a Christian classic, it may be considered as Watchman Nee's legacy to the church. Condensed in this new volume, there are 42 lessons to be learned in journeying towards the spiritual.

This book in the centrality of Jesus Christ in life and history is a compilation of messages given at mid-week meetings in Shanghai, China during the period of 1939-40 by the great Chinese pastor-teacher, Watchman Nee.

In this volume, brother Watchman Nee presents the secret of Christian living in three parts; namely, in Christ, Christ in us, and some applications. These are messages given mainly from 1934 to 1938 in various cities of China. They are more direct, more illustrative, and easier to understand. It can be viewed as a companion volume to the classic, The Normal Christian Life.

This volume is a compilation of messages given by noted Chinese pastor/author Watchman Nee at various times and places during his illustrious ministry. All relate to the communion of the Holy Spirit.

Watchman Nee's thesis in this book is that Christ came to mankind by way of the cross, and only by this same way can we know him. At the source of all spiritual things, he says, stands the cross.

This new audiobook includes 31 morning and evening devotions taken from the writings of Watchman Nee. The photos included with each devotional thought were all taken in South Africa. There is a type of spiritual progress in the content as you listen along. And yet any portion of the audiobook can stand by itself for the listener who occasionally picks up the audiobook.

Having come to see Christ Jesus, we are now ready to see his church, about which Jesus had declared this: "I will build my [church], and hades' gates shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18b). From this declaration we realize that the church is not the product of the work of man, but it is the Lord Jesus himself who builds the church. Hence, in scripture, the church is called "the Christ" (I Corinthians 12:12c; Ephesians 3:4b, 8b Darby).

Christianity is Jesus Christ. It is not the teaching, doctrine, system, or organization of Christ. Rather, it is Jesus Christ himself. We need to see him as God sees him. Yet this can only come about by revelation from above. The Holy Spirit will reveal Jesus to us. And when we do see him as God sees him, we will fall down and worship. Such, then, is the intent of this series of messages, whose overarching theme is best summed up in the author's choice of title to the entire series: "But We See Jesus" (Hebrews 2:9a).

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). So mourned the prophet Hosea. The glory of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that "all shall know [God], from the least to the greatest of them" (Heb. 8:11). Spiritual knowledge is open to all God's children today. It is therefore not only our duty but also our privilege to seek this knowledge. In the present volume, brother Watchman Nee attempts to help us to develop this spiritual knowledge.

"My Father worketh even until now, and I work," declared the Lord Jesus while on the Earth (John 5:17). Having thus laid the foundation of the work, Christ commands his Church to fulfill it in the power of the Holy Spirit. We Christians who are the many-membered body of Christ have a pressing need to know how to serve according to God.

Thank God, through the redemptive work of Christ, we Christians are to have our families restored to God's original purpose. This short series of messages, delivered by the author before a gathering of God's people in Washington, DC, beginning in September 1974, is therefore being published as a way of helping Christian believers elsewhere to see and carry out God's purpose for the family. May the Lord bless all who listen to this volume.

Why do the righteous suffer? This is an age-long dilemma. The human soul agitates over it. Man's wisdom endeavors to solve it. But God alone has the right answer. In the book of Job, God reveals the hidden purpose behind the suffering of the righteous. For suffering is unto sonship. Through suffering we grow into such a living knowledge of God that delivers us from self and fills us with Christ.
