When the Hebrew Singer—marveling at the fact, of which he had no doubt, that man is visited by God—exclaimed, "When I consider Thy Heavens," he was undoubtedly comparing the apparent littleness of man with the vastness of the universe of which he was conscious of. For him, the expression "Thy heavens" included the universe whose existence was demonstrated by the "moon and the stars." Evidently, it was like a song composed at night. Like all inspired expressions, it was inclusive. But how much it included, the Singer certainly did not know.

What man is, and what man does, determines in what conditions, circumstances, and environments he shall be placed. And since man can change both himself and his actions, he can determine what his fate is to be. To change himself, man must change his thought, because man is as he thinks; and to change his actions, he must change the purpose of his life, because every action is consciously or unconsciously inspired by the purpose held in view.

There is no greater thrill than sharing in divine creative activity! This activity, however, cannot be earned, for it is given by grace. An idea is a seed which can be planted in the mind, but having no life in itself. The thought will remain dormant unless God gives it birth.

The world is changing its thought; in the past, those who believed in the perpetuation of youth were among the isolated few and were looked upon with suspicion by the many; in the present, the great majority desire to perpetuate their youth, and most believe it is possible.

God made the sunbeam, and the candle was lighted a great while ago; but if in my little book I can bring the light nearer to some who will be blessed and cheered by it, that will be enough.

I am not alone. Wherever I am, God is. Wherever I go, I go with God. Should traveling be in order, I have no fear, for his love goes before me and prepares the way. Right lodging and perfect meals await me as I need them. I dedicate both my car and the trip to God. His hand is on the wheel and his wisdom assures the smooth operation of the car. His love reaches out to help me through everyone I meet.

Students of divine science rejoice in the all-inclusiveness of this teaching. Nothing is excluded; all is to be understood and interpreted aright. The motto of enlightenment is therefore: Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own understanding!

The stories recorded in the Bible are prophetic sketches of events predestined to take place in the individual you! We are told in the seventh chapter of John: “We know where this man comes from, yet we are told that when the Christ appears no one will know where he comes from.” Speaking of the Father and the higher realm to which he now belongs, Jesus says: “A time will come when I will no longer speak to you in parables, but tell you plainly of the Father.”

A History of Atlantis must differ from all other histories for the fundamental reason that it seeks to record the chronicles of a country whose soil is no longer available for examination to the archaeologist.

Talking to oneself is a habit in which everyone indulges. We could no more stop talking to ourselves than we could stop eating and drinking. All we can do is control the nature and the direction of our inner conversations.
