Ruby is tired of waiting. Now that she and Damon made up, it’s more important than ever that she get rid of her dragon form before Damon manages to secure one. The sealing would connect her to the dragon world forever, and she needs a clean break. Sid has decided to go after the queen and worry about the babies afterward, so Ruby goes on her own.

The war is over, but Isa is still trapped in the castle. Grace has secrets she’s terrified to share with Isa now that her memories have returned. Together they must decide the future of Isa’s kingdom. But first, they fight for Isa’s freedom and her fate…

With Pierre dead, the guardians are in chaos. Several rise to take his place as leader, but Isa doesn’t trust any of them. She tries to force Drew into the role, but behind the scenes, they refuse to listen to him. Liam needs to leave to hunt down the wizard, but there is no way he’s leaving Isa in the hands of the enemy. He mutinies and brings Drew and a few others with him.

Damon is an idiot. He never should’ve gone home and gotten trapped by his mother. If he hadn’t, he’d be with Ruby and she never would’ve gotten caught. Now, Sid is sending a team after her and Damon isn’t about to be left behind.

With Jude dead, there’s another opening on the council of guardians and they want Liam to round out the twelve. But Liam still isn’t convinced that the guardians have Isa’s best interest at heart and not only that, Isa doesn’t want him as a guardian and he doesn’t want to do anything that would anger her. In the end Pierre convinces him that Isa’s very life is on the line if he doesn’t join.

Grace is sick and tired of dealing with Liam and Isa’s business. Besides she’s got bigger problems. She and Jude have finally found peace, but she’s keeping a big secret and he’s being sent out on a mission with no telling when he’ll back. When Grace finds out that Jude and a few of the other guardians are under the influence of an evil wizard, she has to decide if she’s going to tell him about her own wizardness.

Ruby wakes up in the arms of the one guy she swore she’d never fall for, but she did. He’s not so bad though. But when the unthinkable happens, her plans to get rid of her dragon form is in jeopardy. She has a choice to make, follow her heart or follow her dreams….Meanwhile, Liam does everything he can to seal himself to Isa so she’ll trust him again. But nothing is working and the attacks on those in the castle are getting worse—distracting Liam. It’s not until Isa is attacked that he finally manages to seal himself to her, but will she survive?

Sid can’t seem to catch a break. Between his council demanding to go to war and Jens watching his every move, he can barely breathe. When one of the dragon babies shows up at Sid’s house, he does everything he can to keep her from being spotted by Jens, sometimes even the best laid plans can go awry. At first, it seems like no one died on the new moon, but when a mysterious letter shows up on Samuels doorstep, Juliette has to race after him to find the body. They tear through the woods and find a ship wreck where one of Juliette's students has died. Samuel shares the letters he's received over the last couple of years and Juliette thinks she might know just how to find the culprit. But when her methods anger Samuel and he sets off on his own, it might be Juliette doing the rescuing this time.
