Wicca is also known as Witchcraft and The Craft. It is a religion that emphasizes nature, peaceful living, and spirituality. As such, it is vastly different than Satanism with which it is sometimes confused or unfairly compared to. Another singular feature of Wicca is its belief in magic. Wiccans practice a vast array of Wiccan spells and rituals such as Wiccan spells for love and Wiccan healing spells

The Book of Shadows acts a little like a Wiccan's guide book, holding a varied amount of knowledge from rituals and spells to beliefs and traditions. Written by Gerald Gardiner in the late 1940s to early 1950s for his coven of Brickett Wood, it was written to guide beginning Wiccans. They used information from this book, adding and leaving out information to suit their own books.

Wicca does not follow the written word of man, but instead follows the divinity of nature, the moon, the sun, and the seasons. Wicca pulls from old, traditional witchcraft, but they are not the same. Wicca is a deep appreciation for nature. Witchcraft fosters free thought for individuals. Witchcraft and Wicca is not a cult. The people of this religion to not worship the devil or Satan. There are no sacrifices, and we take an oath to "harm none."

Wicca is a term that is preferred since it is a neopagan form of witchcraft. Wiccans believe in the universal elements of air, fire, water, spirit, and earth. These are elements that make up the Wiccan symbol of the pentacle.

Pendulum divination, also known as dowsing, is the means of answering questions and determining outcomes by using a pendulum. This has been performed for thousands of years by scientists, shamans, spiritual and cultural leaders, midwives, and everyday people as a way of gaining knowledge. Sabbats, or Wiccan holidays, are timed the Earth's rhythms and seasons. Sabbats celebrate the Earth's journey around the sun, also known as the Wheel of the Year, while Wiccans commemorate Sabbats as Turning the Wheel. Wiccans normally celebrate eight Sabbats each year.
