In Kairo kommt es zu einem Mord an einem Antiquitätenhändler. Phileas Fogg, der sich in der Stadt aufhält, wird hierbei zu Rate gezogen. Phileas Fogg befindet sich auf der Rückreise nach Europa. Mitten auf dem Atlantik kommt es jedoch zu gefährlichen Vorfällen auf der kleinen Brigg Sally Palmer. Aouda wurde entführt, und Passepartout entgeht nur knapp einem heimtückischen Attentat. Es beginnt eine dramatische Suche nach Aouda Fogg, die ihrerseits auf einen alten Bekannten trifft.
