Don't you love The Onion? It's full of fun spoofs that can sometimes be all-too realistic. Susie found a recent Onion article entitled "If You Wish to Be a Writer, Have Sex with Someone Who Works in Publishing". Susie loves it and she laughs along as she reads the "sincere" advice for young writers, which includes establishing a daily routine involving many ways to have sex with a publisher. If you have writers block, says the article, just move on, find a different person to sleep with, and your slump may improve!

A new feature on Amazon recently led Susie to a funny case of mistaken identity. In a book about traveling through Japan (William Ferguson's "The Highway to Hokkaido") someone named Susie Bright is mentioned teaching ESL through Porn. Then, Susie talks about her new toy, "The Slightest Touch" aka the Orgasmatron. It's an electrical device designed to help women overcome "the arousal gap." Then in her mailbag, Susie talks about sex after conception and what it takes to be the perfect gigolo.

Susie starts off today's show with a technology article from Popular Science. The topic: UK Prime Minister David Cameron's proposed anti-pornography plan. He wants stricter filters for search engines, because he believes that many children are viewing porn online. Cameron believes that a "family filter" set up by his government can solve the problem and promises to do "whatever it takes to keep our children safe." Susie reads from the story and finds so many holes in this absurd plan.

Susie spends the entire show with her guest Daniel Bergner. His just-released book What Do Women Want? is on the New York Times best-seller list. The book is subtitled Adventures in the Science of Female Desire and it disrupts the typical idea that women are more monogamous then men. His research looks at women's desire and arousal, and he turns the tables on conventional thought. Susie and Daniel talk about why women aren't seen as animalistic, whether research takes into consideration sexual politics, and female erotic fantasy and lust.

This week, Susie celebrates the publication of her new collection Three The Hard Way three erotic novellas by William Harrison, Greg Boyd, and Tsaurah Litsky. To kick things off, Susie reads the first chapter of Tsaurah Litsky's The Motion of the Ocean about a young woman who is just starting to learn what she wants from sex. Then, in the mailbag, Susie offers some parenting advice to a man who is worried his wife is giving their teenage daughter the wrong messages about sex.

California Governor-elect Schwarzenegger takes office on November 17th, but what about the sex? Susie says she's been reading between the lines of Arnold's sexual exploits and she's come up with a theory about what really turns the Terminator on. Susie recounts her own run-ins with the San Diego vice squad to explain why some cities just can't relax about sex. Then, in Susie's home turf of Santa Cruz, she says it's harder than you'd think to get arrested for running around naked. In an extra long mailbag, Susie sets the record straight for a man whose only fantasy is being man enough for his lady love.

Susie's talking this week with her old friend and physician, Flash Gordon, MD. Susie asks Flash: How do recreational drugs affect sexual performance? What can you do to make prostate exams easier? How does menopause affect sexual desire? And, what's do you really see in the ER? Also, Susie recommends a classic example of corset-porn, Autobiography of a Flea. He also developed a survey that dealt with unlocking the inner sources of people's sexual passion and fulfillment. Susie knew Jack and took his survey years ago, finding it to be an enlightening experience. Next, another example from the stranger-than-truth department. Susie saw an ad on Craigslist that takes the cake....

Susie interviews Mark Frauenfelder, one of the founders of the popular blog Boing Boing. Susie says Boing Boing is one of those great sites where everything is up for discussion - think imaginative, curious, sex positive geeks who delight in the intersection of science and technology. Susie and Mark discuss creating your own backyard DNA samples, the lure of sexy cartoons, and how to stage a demonstration at your next airport security checkpoint. Then, in the mailbag, Susie offers some honeymoon sex advice.

Actor Michael Douglas recently claimed that oral sex caused his throat cancer. Susie reads from an article in The Guardian newspaper that reveals some candid facts about the Hollywood bigwig. Douglas says that HPV, human papillomavirus, is what did him in. Susie takes a more skeptical look at his claims, saying cunnilingus doesn't cause cancer. Susie also looks at the HPV vaccine and how the sexually transmitted HPV virus can be spread.

A man posts a personal sex ad on Craigslist. No problem, right? Except this guy is a teacher, and it seems his private life is not private. After a complaint to the police from an anonymous caller, our teacher removed the ad. But it didn't end there; he was fired. Susie finds the decision of the court over this case to be so misguided, she's breathing fire. She looks at what they called "vulgar" and "inappropriate" and calls the firing a witch hunt by repressed men who are holier then thou.

An alarming amount of deaths in the gay porn industry has Susie wondering what's going on. Today, Susie reads from a recent article in XBiz by Dan Cameron entitled "Searching for Answers". Although an X-rated gay-movie career can magnify the pressure its male stars are placed under, there have never been so many suicides as in the past 17 months. Susie looks at the role inadequate health care has played in the despair and what the industry needs to do to help these troubled souls.

China is well-known for its bootleg DVD sales. Not only are the latest Hollywood blockbusters available, but so are the hottest porn movies. But porn is illegal, so the need to censor the offending entertainment creates jobs for teams of men watching porn. Susie is all over this bizarre news story about the sad workers who become numb after years of viewing graphic scenes. Sounds like a pretty hard job!

Susie's in the studio with Erica Jong, best known for her 1973 work Fear of Flying. Erica says she's gone from the "nurse or purse" scenario with older or much younger lovers, to seeing sex as a whole body experience. Then they talk about raising sexually strong girls and why Jane Austen would be chick-lit today. Finally, in the mailbag, Susie gets an earful about Christian domestic discipline.
