It's August and The Witch Squad members are back in Aspen Falls for their second and final year at the Paranormal Institute for Witches. Excited to have their own place this year, instead of living in the dorms, the girls can't wait to get settled in and catch up on everything that's happened while they were apart over summer break.

Refugees have been streaming into the city of Forge from around the country. Monsters are coming down from the mountains and staking out new hunting grounds. The Stromark system has fallen into rebellion, and the Sons of Sanguinius have been sent to end the conflict and return the system to the Emperor's light. On Stromark Prime, the Flesh Tearers descend with their most feared warriors – the bloodthirsty Death Company – to tear the heart from the rebellion. But as the murderous Space Marines rampage through Stromark Prime's palace, the world's governor may hold their fates in her hands. Meanwhile on Stromark Secundus, the Angels Encarmine send down a force of veterans to despatch any remaining resistance.

It’s what we’ve all been waiting for…Jax Stone’s eighteenth birthday, and she’s yet to get the one gift that she’s always wanted. In addition, it’s graduation time at the Paranormal Institute for Witches. Second-year witches, Libby and Cinder, are finally graduating. However they must first perform one last graduation project, only they’re stumped as to how to wow the Great Witches Council. So, of course, the Witch Squad teams up once again to try and get Jax what she’s always wanted and to help Libby and Cinder with their final project!
