Today's show features some juicy and complex correspondence from Susie's "Try This at Home" mailbag. There are two letters, both of which are from a married couple who want to change their monogamous relationship into an open marriage. They each sent Susie a letter separately, detailing their concerns and desires. The claim is that he's not gay but experiences "same sex attraction". Susie's big beef here is how exploitative these shows are, and how they create a hubbub over what really deserves little attention.

Susie has an interview today with YouTube celebrity Arielle Scarcella. She's a funny, sexy lesbian who has made a big splash posting over-the-top videos that have great themes. Susie reads from a New York Times article by Claire Cain Miller that shows that, since the 2000s, divorces are actually down from an all-time high in 1970s and early 80s. Still, many people think that 50 percent of marriages end in divorce - but that's just not true anymore.

The award-winning TV show Transparent depicts what happens when a family member transgenders. Writer Sara Bibel has a few different insights about that experience, based on her own real-life dad, who transitioned when she was four years old. Susie reads from Bibel's article at xojane.com. Being bullied affects one's self esteem and sexuality, and that creates the rage, trauma, and hurt of "nerdolescence".

Today Susie looks at the details surrounding a complex story: An elderly man who may or may not have had willing sex with his Alzheimer's-suffering wife has been put on trial. At the heart of the matter is the question of consent and the infantilization of the elderly. It seems lots of younger people don't want to believe that senior citizens might still want to have sex together.

There are some left-leaning thinkers with an anti-porn agenda who are determined to protect all the poor victims of pornography. Susie has had it up to here with their rhetoric, but she doesn't want to rebut - and therefore fuel - their lame debate. Instead, on today's show, Susie talks with journalist, economic analyst, and financial trader Doug Henwood about why the preachy cries of the anti-porn crowd are so off base.
