Consciousness and Shamanism is the result of the author's Ayahuasca voyage in 2004 to Ecuador, where he was drinking the sacred brew in the presence of an experienced Shuar shaman. Bikerman bekommt einen Anruf von einem gewissen Zarusky, angeblich ein Bewohner des Nebenhauses. Dieser will sich unbedingt mit Bikerman persönlich treffen, denn es geht um Geld - um viel Geld und um einen geraubten Schatz. Aber es geht um noch viel mehr, doch da hört Bikerman plötzlich nur noch Schreie durchs Telefon, als wenn jemand niedergeschlagen würde, und schließlich bricht die Verbindung ab.
