As Gryff learns more about the Shadowscape and the god-like Archons that rule it, the stakes keep getting higher. What would you do if a group of usurpers tried to murder your minion-wife and take away your kingdom? Would you destroy them, follow them home to their sovereign island, kill all the gods they worship, and then conquer their land? Yep. You would do that, and you’d laugh the entire time. The Master becomes even darker as his power increases.

What would you do if a sniveling slime ball of a king tried to steal one of your harem members/minions? Would you stand for his insult? Or would you kill all of his supporters, take his riches and kingdom for yourself, and rip every last ounce of stolen power from his body?

Gryff expects maybe a few Utun men to join his cause. He definitely doesn’t anticipate raising his own army. But, with his own forces, Gryff could lay siege to the capital and usurp Utuni once and for all.

Gryff has his hands pretty full in the south. Not only is Varleth still missing, but now Veopa has awakened in the country of Vay. Plus, his women have been emboldened by his hawk wife Freya, and now they all want to bear him children. It’s a hard job, but someone’s gotta do it, and Gryff is certainly not complaining.

Jace and his crew have broken through the Tempest Wall to find the world hidden within the hurricane. Now, they must head below to find the relic stolen from the Queen of Dragons. Their enemies from Saltwater's Weep have not forgotten them and remain hot on their heels, seeking to kill the adventurers as they grow in power. Old enemies are returning for a second chance at revenge and new enemies wait for their chance at a growing power. Seth, the Adventurers' Guild, and their temporary allies the Transportation Guild made it through the monstrous wilderness to Askua, marking the first known successful travel from Efril to another country in countless generations. Things aren't so happy, though, when they find out that Askua is on the brink of civil war.

Tremendous. Tremendously tremendous. Tremendous in its tremendocity. That is how I would describe book four in the Arena series. I say so. Everyone says so. But mostly, I say so. My best friend, Marc Havak, who I hand-picked to represent the planet Earth in an interstellar gladiatorial competition, has kicked-butt and taken names, as I knew he would. Everyone I pick wins. And they win bigly. But this audiobook, wow, this one is amazing. Intense action with yours truly saving the day and telling these alien losers how much they suck? You're hired.

When aliens came to Earth and said they needed a winner, well, I was busy running America. Fantastically. So, the next best winner was Marc Havak. Through two books he's been funny, handsome, and beaten odds that would have made ordinary men cry like losers. This third book though, I'm telling you, this book is amazing. More of everything you love. Edge-of-your-seat alien battles on fantastic worlds? Win. Smoking hot alien babes who are total 10s? Win. Enough heart and guts from the main character to fill one of my incredible hotels? Win.
