So when her police officer husband, Will, is called to the discovery of a skeleton buried out in the local woods, Annie tries to keep out of the investigation. But as another body is discovered and her own niece suddenly goes missing, staying away just isn’t an option.

Annie Ashworth is on maternity leave from her police job, enjoying spending time with baby Alfie. Perhaps her days at home are a little boring, but after all of the horrific crimes she’s witnessed, that’s fine with her. But when she starts having strange dreams – dreams that turn out to be linked to a local murder – she can’t stop herself from digging. There’s an eerie connection to a serial killer from the 1950s, and Annie fears that the same dark forces are back.
