Inspected by Extraterrestrials: Gray Barker’s Extreme Book of UFO Abduction is one of the last books written by the iconic ufologist, publisher, and best-selling author, Gray Barker, whose writing influenced the plotlines of shows like Star Trek, Futurama, The X-Files, and more. In 1952, Gray Barker became a state representative in the first civilian UFO group, the International Flying Saucer Bureau (IFSB), headed by a World War II veteran named Albert K. Bender. Bender, who had been stationed at Fort George Meade (home of the NSA), and Langley Field (today's aerial drone headquarters), seemed to be genuinely interested not only in UFOs, but also in the strange psychic phenomena surrounding their appearances.

Following the appearance of flying saucers in 1947, the world experienced a wave of UFOs for several years. By 1955, however, sightings appeared to have dropped significantly.

Men in Black: The Secret Terror Among Us was the last major work by West Virginia author Gray Barker, a legendary figure in the history of ufology. In many respects, this is the sequel to his earlier bestsellers They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers (a chronicle of the harassment faced by early UFO researchers) and The Silver Bridge (Barker's on-the-scene investigation of the Mothman events of the 1960s). Since Barker died a year after the release of MIB: Secret Terror, it was not widely distributed.
