On July 9, 2023, John and Dave discussed the massive snowfall in the town and on Mammoth Mountain, which ended their ski season on August 6. The mountain saw 1,000 inches of snowfall at the summit. Pitching legend John Smoltz played 22 MLB seasons, 21 with the Atlanta Braves. He was a 1995 World Series champion and the 1996 Cy Young Award winner. In 2001, after Tommy John surgery, he became a reliever for four years. Smoltz is only the 2nd pitcher in history to have a 20 win season and a 50 saves season.
