"FROST" er en beretning fra vikingetidens Norden. Som bare 13-årig blvier den lille Torgæst Torhalleson fredløs efter at have hævnet sin far og dræbt en af Islands mægtigste høvdinger. Med vildmanden Teit som følgesvend flygter han til Norge. Bestandig hænger truslen om blodhævn over ham. Men Gæst er intelligent, rådsnar og han har en fabelagtig hukommelse. Snart bliver han hvirvlet ind i de politiske og religiøse intriger omkring kristendommens indtog i Norden. Han bliver rådgiver for den norske leder Erik Jarl og deltager i Eriks og danerkongen Knud den Stores erobring af England i 1016.
