Bei den Luschinskis geht es drunter und drüber. Nicht nur verwüsten nach der Feier zum 14. Geburtstag der Drillinge uneingeladene Gäste das Haus, es bahnen sich auch noch allerlei persönliche Schwierigkeiten für die drei Geschwister an. Schönling Lennart beschließt, dass er einfach mal der Welt verrät, dass Ruth in seine Ex Kerstin verliebt ist. Ben hat währenddessen an einer anderen Front mit der Liebe zu kämpfen, sein bester Freund Wuddi hat sich nämlich ausgerechnet in Monalena verliebt!

Lustig, launisch, die Luschinskis: Während Vater Thorsten nur einen halbgebackenen Chef de Cuisine abgibt, wird Mutter Viola bei etwas zu viel Intimität mit dem Zahnarzt der Familie erwischt. Die Drillinge Ben, Ruth und Monalena stiften währenddessen unter sich Chaos. Es gibt Tage, an denen möchte man sich am liebsten wieder im Bett verkriechen. Genau so einen Tag hat Marie erwischt. Irgendwie möchte ihr nicht wirklich was gelingen, niemand hat Zeit und sie fühlt sich allein und verlassen. Doch dann triftt sie im Traum auf Friedrich Karl Julius Hermann August Sebastian Max, genannt Schepper. Und schnell wird klar: Da haben sich zwei getroffen, die gemeinsam durch dick und dünn passen.

Marie hat es nicht leicht. Nicht nur, dass die Erwachsenen ihr immer Vorschriften machen wollen. Sie glauben ihr auch nicht immer alles. Und das ist ganz schön blöd. Als dann aber auch noch Melanie, Maries beste Freundin, ihr nicht abnehmen möchte, dass der Kater in der Laube sprechen kann, versteht Marie die Welt nicht mehr. Dabei erzählt der Kater doch so spannende Geschichten, die, zugegeben, manches Mal auch ein wenig merkwürdig klingen. Zum Beispiel, wenn er von den Mäusen erzählt, die Tango tanzen.

Matti har altid levet i to forskellige verdner. Den ene er den virkelige verden, som han deler med alle andre. Den anden er hans egen eventyrlige drømmeverden. Da Matti flytter til Helsinki, begynder han at få problemer i både den virkelige og den eventyrlige verden. I Helsinki bliver han forfulgt af to drengebander, mens der i eventyrverdenen er en sort ridder efter ham. Iris Kiefer og Jürgen Starbatty er begge tyske forfattere. Sammen har de skrevet bogen En rygsæk fuld af eventyr, som blandt andet er blevet oversat til dansk.

Det er tid til vinterferie. Træerne har mistet deres blade, og det er koldt udenfor. Christian skal holde ferien på en lille ø sammen med sine forældre. Øen er fyldt med skøn natur, og ferien bliver rigtig dejlig, da øen bliver dækket af et tykt lag sne. Iris Garnov er født i 1939, og gennem tiden har hun haft mange forskellige jobs, heriblandt fabriksarbejder, refrænsangerinde og sekretær. Herefter tog hun basisuddannelsen på Roskilde Universitetscenter, og i 1977 debuterede hun som forfatter.
