Ein Messer, ein Strick und eine Pistole: Alle wollen sie das Mordinstrument sein, das dem Lebemann und unerschütterlichen Optimisten Sir Aaron Armstrong ein Ende bereitete. "Nicht wirtschaftlich", meint Pater Brown dazu. Während sich zu den drei Waffen drei Verdächtige gesellen und die Anschuldigungen der Polizisten im Dreieck springen, nimmt Pater Brown eine ganz eigene Fährte auf.
