No help is coming. Alex, the police detective, is still under a sleep curse and Sir Thomas, a talking cat banished from his realm, has left to defend him. Can Charlotte get her wand to work in the weird world of Cincinnati? Or does this spell doom for the duo?

Scarlett Prynne, Runeclaw, The Spell Riders, and the Witches on Wheels beat down the Chrome Ghosts and disrupted the Luminous Veil's plans once again. The Veil didn't like that. Darrin is no more, courtesy of the bald baddies. They're eager to send our favorite witch to the same fate. They have their reasons. Maybe it's because Scarlett is hot on the trail of missing college students in Provo, Utah, and all signs point to the bald men with wands as the culprits. Some bad guys don't know when to give up.

A monster that doesn't exist in any mythology or any of their ancient lore has suddenly appeared. A creature so monstrous, they have no idea how to fight it. The beast can even take on the form of anyone they know and love. Well, that's just wrong. There's more trouble on the horizon. Has the Order of Skrár been an Order of blood humans this whole time? Were they recording all the history of magicals and monsters without a single elemental catching on that they couldn't be trusted?

A few of Heka's zombie followers have popped up in Turkey and Emily Trigger and the rest of her unit are sent out on the trail. Or so they think.
