Jack London’s Call of the Wild is an iconic title for multiple reasons. On the one hand, its descriptions of the beauty and savagery of life in the frozen north possess a nearly unmatched ability to transport listeners into a world they have never previously known. But on the other hand, beneath those incredible descriptions, is an unflinching look into what defines civilization, in both man and beast - and into how incredibly easily that civilization can vanish.

The Iron Heel by Jack London is a dystopian novel first published in 1908. The narrative is unusual in being a first-person narrative of a woman protagonist written by a man. Predicting future changes in society and politics, it chronicles the rise of an oligarchic tyranny in the United States. The main narrative covers the years 1912 - 1932, in which the Iron Heel oligarchy arose in the United States. Canada, Mexico, and Cuba formed their own oligarchies and were aligned with the U.S. while in Asia, Japan created an empire in Asia, and Europe became socialist.

The Sun-Dog Trail by Jack London is set in the harsh wilderness of the Alaskan Yukon. The story is told by the friend of an Indian guide named Sitka Charlie who is paid by a white woman to take her on a sled journey of 1,500 miles. Sitka Charlie buys dogs and a sled and they travel over to Indian River, to Sulphur Creek, to Dominion, and back across the divide to Dawson. There, a man, John Jones, joins them. They follow the trail of another man to the Bering Straits where someone is killed....

Bâtard is a short story by Jack London, first published in 1902 under the title Diable - a Dog in The Cosmopolitan. The narrative follows Black Leclère, a hunter, trapper, and adventurer in the Northwest at the time of the Alaskan gold rush. They were both devils - one in human and one in canine form. For five years, the two of them roamed the north, from St. Michael's and the Yukon delta to the head-reaches of the Pelly and even as far as the Peace River and the Great Slave Lake.

The story of The Scarlet Plague takes place in 2073 in the San Francisco area, 60 years after an apocalyptic pandemic called the Red Death or Scarlet Plague has depopulated the Earth. James Smith, one of the survivors, lives with his grandsons who are hunter-gatherers in a tribal world. He relates the horror of the plague to them, and tells them of the time when he was a professor of English, and of the start of the pandemic. His grandsons, who are of limited cognitive ability, refuse to believe him; they cannot believe that the disease was spread by germs.

Jack London was an American novelist and journalist who is considered the world’s first literary celebrity. Jack London (1876-1916) wrote extensively of the Klondike Gold Rush. This is the story of Kink Mitchell and Hootchinoo Bill who came to the Yukon in 1896. The claim called 24 Eldorado finally brought a huge surprise for them and for Ans Handerson.

White Fang is a novel by American author Jack London (1876-1916) - and the name of the story's eponymous character, a wild wolfdog. The story takes place in Yukon Territory and the Northwest Territories, Canada, during the 1890s Klondike Gold Rush and details White Fang's journey to domestication. It is a companion novel (and a thematic mirror) to London's best-known work, The Call of the Wild, which is about a kidnapped, domesticated dog embracing his wild ancestry to survive and thrive in the wild.
