My name is Clarissa Harlowe Barton. Maybe I will have a nickname like “Clara”. When I am 3 years old, I go to school and do well in reading and spelling. In school, I have only one true friend because I am very shy and timid. Now, I am 10 years old. My brother falls off the roof of a barn. He has a bad head injury. I learn how to give medicine to my brother and how to place leeches on his skin to suck out the bad blood. The doctors say there is no hope for him. But, I keep on caring for him. He makes a full recovery. I saved his life!
