In Osho’s understanding Zen is the approach to religion that has not put fetters on mankind. These four talks pay homage to Zen’s reverence for life and its celebration of the everyday. In the ordinary course, being “out of your mind” is not a positive statement being associated with a person who is out of control and not able to take care of himself, perhaps even harmful to others.

With modern media, there is an impression that this world is becoming more chaotic than ever before. However, according to Osho’s understanding, the world has not changed but remains the same: upside down, crazy, insane. The fact that in the last 3,000 years humanity has fought 5,000 wars is evidence enough but what has changed is an awareness that we are crazy, that something is basically wrong with humanity.

Service to the poor is embraced by charities all over the world and here Osho exposes this model as one that makes the givers feel good – if not less guilty - about themselves while giving only a temporary respite to the poor and downtrodden.

At one time or another everybody feels misunderstood and or misunderstands another. The idiosyncrasies inherent in language is one of the reasons why there is so much misunderstanding in the world. Osho has a unique proposal – communication through silence. He points out that there is no misunderstanding between animals and or trees or birds, because language does not exist in those realms. So instead of language why not communicate in love, in silence.

“You are miserable because you have decided to be miserable” – hard words and difficult so see let alone to admit, that our misery is self-created, a strategy, something that we unconsciously cultivate because it works for us; it all allows us to avoid responsibility. And if we are willing to face it and to take responsibility for our misery we are freed from it. As simple as that.

What is love? Everyone will have a different notion of what love is. In this talk Osho says that love has become the rarest of rare and speaks of learning how to grow love, how to create a climate of love, of gratitude and thankfulness. Learn how to grow love, to overflow with love, to give love rather than living in need masquerading as love. Instead, prepare the ground for love as a natural functioning.

There are three kinds of problems - those that you create – they are almost ninety per cent of the problems of your life. You create them and you go on saying that you don’t want them. Ninety per cent of the problems simply disappear when you are in a meditative state – because you can see. And by seeing, you stop creating them. Ninety per cent will be solved; nine per cent will not be solved by your meditation but will be dissolved because they will not concern you at all.

Here Osho exposes the belief in God as a mere projection of the mind, a game we play with ourselves in order to avoid responsibility. We do according to god rather than being according to our self. So long as god is we are not. So long as god decides we don’t. Only by seeing the trap of our belief in god are we free from god and free to be ourselves.

Kya aap dhyan karna chahte hai? to phir yah pravachan sune. Osho ke sutra saral hai: Ekant dyan ki bhumika hai, avyastata dhyan ka dvar hai, prakriti sannidhya dhyan me atyant sahayogi hai.Vichar shant ho jaye, akash se badaliya chali jayen, akash hi bache jo chetna se alokit ho.

Is pravachan me Osho hamare sthapit mulya par chot karate hai. Ham adarsh ko mahan maante hai lekin Osho ke anusar adarsh thothe hai kyoki ve udhar hai. Adarsh bahar se thope jaate hai, bhitar ki samajh se nahi nikalte. Adarsh ka arth hai ham jaise nahi hai vaise banne ki koshish karana. Yadi jivan ko janna hai to apne antas ko khilne de. Samanya ko mahatva de, vishisht hone ki koshish na kare.

Here Osho responds to questions about whether enjoyment of music, women, sensory perceptions, and all kinds of "worldly things" can interfere with meditation. Religious conditioning certainly urges people to avoid the pleasures of the flesh, but what does Osho have to say about it?

In Tao, Osho takes listeners on an adventure into the world of Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu, Lieh Tzu, Ko Hsuan - the world of Taoism, one of the four major traditions of China. The 3000-year-old Taoist message of self-realization becomes alive as Osho recounts the stories of these Chinese mystics. Contrary to the laissez-faire going-with-the-flow perception of Taoism, Osho describes Tao in terms of freedom, anarchy, and chaos.

In this talk Osho raises a critical voice about the double standards that have prevailed throughout the political history of the United States. He points to the discrepancy between the constitutional values of freedom and democracy, basic human rights and freedom of expression, which the United States has taken so much pride in, and the barbaric treatment it has given to the native people of America. The wider applications of this hypocrisy are obvious.

Osho speaks about the great harm that all organized religions have done to humanity by dividing man against himself, by creating a division between head and heart. Man has become a split personality fighting with himself and projecting his fight onto the outside world. Osho's meditations are designed to heal these wounds and bring about a return to a natural state of self-integration.

Being loose and natural will give you a spontaneous awareness, rather than making an effort to reach a certain goal. No effort is going to succeed because the cause of all misery is the doer, the ego, our idea of self. Osho only teaches awareness. Suppression is not the way to buddhahood. Simply relax and be whatsoever you are - and awareness will come by itself.

When he is asked how to be happy, Osho responds by questioning the very logic of the question. How can wanting to be happy ever lead to happiness? Osho springs back and forth between exploring the neurotic American dream of happiness, and describing what it actually takes to be happy.

Crisis is a very valuable time. When everything is in chaos, nothing is static, nothing is secure. Who knows what is going to happen next? In such a chaotic moment you are free, you can change. You can escape from your inner prison and attain to the innermost core of your being. In times of great crisis enlightenment is more accessible. The time can be used for your individual growth.
