Clay Cooper is home again, recovering from his second heart attack. His son, Elliott calls Gloria back in to help out temporarily. Their latest case involves a woman who wants Cooper to find out who killed her husband, a new P.I. who was shot while investigating only his second case. Elliott and Gloria visit the Burbank Police Department, since the victim, Gordon Reese, was found in their jurisdiction. The streets and back alleys of Burbank set the scene for another interesting case for Elliott and his on-again partner, Gloria.

Short Story Seven-Pack runs nearly three hours and consists of the following short stories: "Eat Your Peas," "Forever," "Free Enterprise," "Have Gum Will Travel," "Overdue," "Send In The Clowns," and "The Lesson."

Elliott is hired by the FBI to patrol the street on his block during a parade for a visiting congressman. Elliott gets more than he bargained for when someone takes a shot at the congressman from a third story window. But all is not as it seems in this game of cat and mouse.

You just know your husband's stepping out on you but you can't prove it. Well, wait a minute, this is Hollywood and you know a hairdresser who knows a makeup artist. Together they can transform you into a beautiful, unrecognizeable tart. Then you can go out, pick up your husband at his favorite bar and see just how far he'll go. What can possibly go wrong?

This story takes place in 1944, two years before Matt leaves the L.A.P.D. to start his own investigations business. He and Sergeant Dan Hollister are on patrol when they get a call about a dead woman hanging by her heels from a fire escape. The murderer was easy to catch - he was asleep in that same building. Finding the murder weapon, however, proves to be a little more of a challenge for Matt and Dan.

These three Cooper stories are being bundled together because they all took place in 1947 and could just as easily have been written as one novella.

Jon is a grade school student who has a part-time job at a labratory where they experiment with animal DNA. When he hears that one of the scientists needs a tray full of samples, Jon runs to get it, trying to show how helpful he can be. In his haste he spill the contents of nine cups of animal DNA and the contents mix together. Sure, it was an accident, but the results make for an amazing discovery.

Penelope was a plain, unassuming woman that nobody noticed. Her job was going nowhere. Enter Debbie, her new co-worker at the insurance company where Penelope had gone unnoticed for nearly three years. Debbie's going places in the company, and fast. Why? Because she saved her money and got breast implants. Once Penelope saw what those implants did for Debbie, she decided to have the operation herself. One way or another, she would get noticed. Be careful what you wish for, Penelope. Attention may not be all that it's cracked up to be.

Ralph has it bad. He's in love with Helen, who doesn't know he exists. His plan is to send her letters on a regular basis and sooner or later she's bound to give in. Ralph's friend Tom is not so sure that's such a great idea, you know, with the stalking laws and all. But Ralph persists and personally hands Jerry, the mailman, another of his convincing letters to personally deliver to Helen. Will Helen file a restraining order? Will Tom keep teasing Ralph? Will Jerry get sick of Ralph's letters to Helen?

Here for your listening enjoyment are seven tales of actual police cases straight from the files of a real Wisconsin police department, as they actually happened. These incidents were related to me by a retired police captain. Names were changed to protect the innocent, but the events are as real as they get. Truth IS stranger than fiction, as you will find out when you read these accounts.

Cooper Times Six consists of six short stories of revenge. These include: "That's Show Biz:" Cooper is hired by a girl to rescue her boyfriend from drug dealers. "Rock Bottom:" Cooper finds the body of an old man in his dumpster and investigates his heirs. "A Really Good Friend:" Dean asks Elliott to help him hide the body of a prostitute that dies while he was with her. "Tall, Dark, and Dead:" Elliott is mugged. Then the mugger is killed by someone who thinks that they’ve killed Elliott.

It's a long holiday weekend and Clay Cooper decides to take his son, Elliott fishing. As they sit there peacefully in the boat, Elliott sneezes and Clay automatically says, 'Bless you,' prompting Elliott to question the whole superstitious custom and how it came to be. By the time he's finished explaining it to Dad, Dad has some questions of his own.

Cooper Investigations 1947-1987 runs 6.8 hours and consists of the following short stories: "018 - Violence Is Golden," "019 - Surprise Package," "020 - The Big Sweep," "033 - Top Of The World," "034 - Til Death Do Us Part," and "039 - The Clay Cooper Cop Killer Caper".

There was nothing Fred Pickering liked better than standing on his back porch on a warm summer's evening watching the sun dip down below the horizon. Well, almost nothing. Fred loved birds. He loved everything about birds. His personal library of bird books numbered in the dozens. He had bird feeders hanging from most of the trees in his yard and he'd even given names to several of the more recognizable birds.

This ain't no Jimmy Stewart Christmas movie. A policeman patrols the downtown area during the Christmas season, checking knobs and keeping the neighborhood safe. His rounds take him past the bridge on the edge of town where he sees a man standing on the railing, contemplating jumping to his death. Can our friendly neighborhood cop talk him out of it and give him a reason to live? Sometimes it's better to just mind your own business.

Elliott Cooper's off to Las Vegas for a week-long P.I. convention and he's driving there in his new car. He stops for gas in Barstow and two thugs carjack him and his car. They slug him, dump him in the desert and leave him for dead. This could have been the end for Elliott Cooper had Jane not come along when she did. She takes Elliott back to her house in the middle of nowhere. Elliott had been hit so hard on the head that now he can't remember who he is, what he is and where he belongs.

What if nothing could hurt you? What if no one could beat you up? What if, no matter what you tried, you couldn't die? I guess you'd consider yourself to be invincible, wouldn't you. And if that became the case, how would it affect your attitude, your confidence, your outlook on life and how you viewed other people? And would it be all it's cracked up to be? Listen and find out.

This is not your typical Cooper story. That is, the main character in this story, Eddie Heller, crosses paths with Matt Cooper but the story is really about Eddie and his quest to become a cop in Hollywood during the 1930s. It follows Eddie life from birth on, ending up on the streets of Hollywood in the 1950s.

You are a huge fan of author Lawrence Block and you would do anything to meet him and get his autograph. Would you die for it? That's probably carrying things a bit too far, but hey, this is fiction. Let's see what happens at one of Lawrence Block's book signings...

Jackie is nine-years-old and seems like a typical kid until you talk to his friend, Stuart. No one else can see or hear Stuart except Jackie. It was Stuart's idea to start that fire and it was Stuart who wet Jackie's bed. It was Stuart who told Jackie to kill those little animals. Jackie looks out his window to see little Timmy playing across the street. He'd better hope Stuart doesn't hurt that little kid.
