Illustrator Marjane Satrapi and guitar legend Jimmy Page on this edition of Fresh Air. Marjane Satrapi is the author of the memoir, Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood. The book is in the form of an illustrated comic. Satrapi was born in 1969 in Iran, and grew up in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution.

Author Jonathan Lethem and actress Maggie Gyllenhaal on this edition of Fresh Air. Jonathan Letham's new semi-autobiographical novel, The Fortress of Solitude tells the story of Dylan Ebdus, a white kid growing up in an African-American and Latino neighborhood in New York.

Writer David Sedaris and actor Alan Cumming, on this edition of Fresh Air. Sedaris is best known for his contributing work with public radio's This American Life. He's written three books of essays, Barrel Fever, Naked, and his newest Me Talk Pretty One Day which was just released in paperback. Scottish actor Alan Cumming co-wrote, co-directed, and is co-starring in the new film The Anniversary Party, along with Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker on this archive edition of Fresh Air. She's been acting for most of her life, including playing Annie on Broadway, the young bimbo in L.A. Story, and a fed-up fiancée in Honeymoon in Vegas. This is her fourth season starring in the HBO hit series Sex and the City, as Carrie, a columnist who writes about the sexual mores of New Yorkers. Terry Gross recorded this interview with Parker live before an audience at Martha's Vineyard in July.

Hear music-comedy duo Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, singer songwriter Nellie McKay, and musical group Los Straitjackets. Emaine Clement and Bret McKenzie are with the group Flight of the Conchords. They join us in the studio for a concert. Clement and McKenzie hail from New Zealand and were named Best Alternative comedy Act at the 2005 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. They star in the HBO series Flight of the Conchords, which begins its second season in 2008.

Actress Lisa Kudrow on this edition of Fresh Air. She stars in the new film Wonderland. Set in 1980s Hollywood, it's about a mysterious mass murder that took place on Wonderland Avenue. Porn Star John Holmes was involved somehow, but the crime was never solved.

Veteran journalist Bob Woodward and British actor Jeremy Northam on this edition of Fresh Air. Bob Woodward is assistant managing editor of The Washington Post. He's the author of eight nonfiction best sellers including All the President's Men, and The Final Days, about the presidency and The Brethren about the Supreme Court.

Actress Amy Sedaris and writer Clifford Wright on this edition of Fresh Air. Sedaris is the star of the comedy series Strangers with Candy that airs on Comedy Central. She plays Jerri Blank, a 47-year-old ex-con, ex-prostitute, lesbian high school freshman. She's the sister of David Sedaris, a humor writer who has been on Fresh Air several times.

The Shield creator Shawn Ryan, actress C.C.H. Pounder, and film critic David Edelstein are the guests on this edition of Fresh Air. Shawn Ryan is the creator and writer for the critically acclaimed FX drama The Shield. It just began its sixth season. (Original Airdate: 3/14/06)

Professor and writer Azar Nafisi on this edition of Fresh Air. Nafisi taught English literature at the University of Tehran and Free Islamic University and Allameh Tabatabai University in Iran. She was expelled from the University of Tehran for refusing to wear the veil. She left Iran in 1997 and is now a professor at Johns Hopkins University.

Singer and songwriter Neil Young and film director Jonathan Demme on this edition of Fresh Air. The new documentary Heart of Gold, made by Demme, follows Young in the first public performances of his work from the CD Prairie Wind, which is the third album of his "Harvest" trilogy. Young made the album after suffering and recovering from a brain aneurysm.

Actor Patrick Warburton and composer Aaron Jay Kernis on this edition of Fresh Air. Patrick Warburton's best known for his recurring role on Seinfeld as Elaine's laconic boyfriend, Puddy. Though he only appeared in nine episodes, he became one of the show's favorite characters. Warburton currently stars in the new FOX show The Tick. He could also be heard as the voice of Joe on Fox's animated series The Family Guy.

Program Director for the International Center for Transitional Justice, Paul Van Zyl and Professor of Women's Studies in religion at the Harvard Divinity School Leila Ahmed on this edition of Fresh Air. As program director for the International Center for Transitional Justice, Paul Van Zyl helps emerging democracies to reckon with the human rights abuses in their past. Van Zyl is from South Africa and was the executive secretary of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Author Edna Gurewitsch and singer Eric Burdon on this edition of Fresh Air. Edna Gurewitsch is the wife of the late Dr. David Gurewitsch, who was Eleanor Roosevelt's personal physician from 1945 to her death in 1962. Gurewitsch has written a new book about the close personal relationship that developed between her husband and the former first lady, Kindred Souls: Eleanor Roosevelt and David Gurewitsch, 1945-1962.

Hear singer Mary Weiss and singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka on this edition of Fresh Air. Weiss first found fame as a member of the Shangri-Las, with hits like "Leader of the Pack", "Remember (Walking in the Sand)", and "Give Him a Great Big Kiss". In March of this year, she recorded her first album of new material since 1965. It's called Dangerous Game.

Dr. Jerome Groopman and Saudi Arabian-born journalist Faiza Saleh Ambah on this edition of Fresh Air. Dr. Groopman is a Harvard Medical School Chair and is Chief of Experimental Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Writer Andre Dubus III and actor Sir Ian McKellen on this edition of Fresh Air. Dubus wrote the novel, House of Sand And Fog. It's now a movie starring Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connelly. The critically acclaimed book was a runaway best seller after being chosen for Oprah's book club.

Actors Philip Seymour Hoffman and Nicolas Cage on this archive edition of Fresh Air. Philip Seymour Hoffman's one of the stars of Punch Drunk Love. Hoffman also had parts in the films Magnolia, Boogie Nights, Happiness, and Next Stop Wonderland.
