Dominic, 26 years old and an MIT graduate, is an avid outdoorsman who likes to hunt. Previously, Max and his people created SafeHaven: a fortress within the forest of his lands. With the precious metals mined from the mountain that he has found, his merchants and advisors are buying all the land, shops, and resources they can all over Augustia to prepare for the upcoming war. He is also giving his people wages and a life even though they will be called at some point in the future to fight for their world. Max bonds with more elementals and begins to learn what his magic can do, but his scouts picked up disturbing news.

Kristjan's home was attacked. He was supposed to be sent through a portal with his guard to keep him safe until everything settled down, but things didn't go as planned.

Maximus has just returned to his home from his plight within the Amazon Kingdom with the knowledge that they do not have an alliance with the Amazons. After the death of their queen, the princess stepped in and told the Army of Races to leave. Max thought that he would have some time to relax once he settled back into his role at SafeHaven. However, another unfortunate situation has been brought to his attention: the Crown Prince of Augustia is missing.

In this second part of his journey, Dom keeps inventing items not known to the world, strives not to give in to societies standards, and learns that his compassion for others will get him into trouble.

In the last few months, Max has bonded with a fire elemental, learned to shift, and freed hundreds of captives from a prison. Now, most want to follow him to his lands, and he realizes it's not big enough to accommodate. While trying to figure out solutions for that problem and others, Sigmus advises him to focus on locating other elementals to bond with. Agreeing with the fire elemental, he journeys to other kingdoms and is shocked at what he finds.

During his journeys, he became fatally injured and ended up in a healing clinic visited by a deity. The god healed Dom and revealed information about how he ended up in Risona and that his family was in danger. With this information, Dom races across the kingdom to save his family, but his mind is filled with anxiety because of the warning Medum gave him. With the help of his family and others, Dom defeats the demonesses and allies they brought.

With the forbidden ones now causing chaos around the world of Risona, other kingdoms are in trouble and need help. They are notified that enchanted weapons have been located and send delegates to negotiate for said weapons, but as they travel, they are accosted throughout the journey. Dom and his family are trying to deal with the soldiers and people who are sent to the fortress by their queens. When tempers flare and get out of hand, it results in death.

Gage, an orphan, has been battling his way through life. No one sees him as anything but a lowly commoner until a gentleman offers him an opportunity that he can't refuse.

Gage and his companions dealt with the slavers and evildoers in Nanrac. He and his ladies left the city and went back home to the farm to live their lives and wait to see if they were called to duty again. Gage became aware that he was someone feared: a Guardian, a person called into certain situations to resolve them when others couldn't. Gage wasn't sure how to take that since his mentor never mentioned it. Whenever he saw him again, then he would demand an answer since the last time he asked why he was being trained, Devon told him that he would know when it was time.
