TJ Oshie announced his retirement on June 9, 2025 after a 16 year playing career. He was star forward for the St Louis Blues to begin his career from 2008 to 2015. He then spent 2015 to 2025 with the Washington Capitals, helping them win the Stanley Cup in 2018. In those 2018 playoffs he scored 8 goals and 13 assists in 24 games. SnowAngel Foundation proponents Chauncey & Kelli Johnson lost their 5-year old daughter Elise due to a colliding snowboarder on Christmas Eve 2010. The snowboarder also died and Kelli suffered a Traumatic Brain injury, among other life altering injuries. As of 2024, Kelli is mostly recovered from the ordeal. To honor their daughter the Johnson's started the SnowAngel Foundation and a program titled "Ride Another Day" to encourage on-mountain safety. Pitching legend John Smoltz played 22 MLB seasons, 21 with the Atlanta Braves. He was a 1995 World Series champion and the 1996 Cy Young Award winner. In 2001, after Tommy John surgery, he became a reliever for four years. Smoltz is only the 2nd pitcher in history to have a 20 win season and a 50 saves season.
