Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, father of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, was a profound Torah scholar who served as the rabbi of the Ukrainian city of Yekaterinoslav (now Dnepropetrovsk).
