This episode features everything from Raymond Massey reciting John of Gaunt's soliloquy from Shakespeare's Richard II to a comedic sketch starring Red Skelton; it also included an operatic performance from Faust and big-band music from Kay Kyser. Originally broadcast on February 7, 1944.

From December 11, 1941, the classic NBC Radio program The March of Time presents a dramatization of America's first week at war. Created by Time magazine, the program used actors and movie-like scripts to bring news events to life. The CBS Radio series Orson Welles' Almanac was usually a half-hour variety show. But on June 7, 1944, the day after the D-Day landing in France by Allied forces, Welles presented this special dramatic broadcast.
