Ich bin 30 Jahre alt und Teil der Generation Anspruch, die Arbeit radikal hinterfragt. Wir können uns das leisten: Wenn die Babyboomer in den nächsten Jahren in Rente gehen, fehlen Deutschland mehr als sieben Millionen Arbeitskräfte. "أهمية أن نتثقف يا ناس" هو عنوان أحد المقالات الموجودة في هذا الكتاب والذي اختاره يوسف إدريس ليكون عنوانا لكتابه الذي يحتوي على مجموعة من المقالات تتمحور حول المجتمع ومشكلاته العديدة...

يقول يوسف إدريس عن هذا الكتاب إنه كان مشروع عمره لأكثر من ثلاث سنوات، فيكتب في تقديمه له : "كلما رأيت ما صارت إليه حياتنا وما تصير إليه أحس إحساساً محضاً أني لابد أن أُخرج للناس ذلك الكتاب الذي كتبته على فترات متقطعة، وعلى هيئة حيثيات مستقلة؛ ذلك أن تلك الظاهرة – ظاهرة فقر الفكر وفكر الفقر – أو الفقر في الأفكار المؤدية إلى فقر في الحياة والإنتاج حين يؤدي بدوره إلى فقر فكري، وهكذا دواليك".
