After God's Own Heart is about fostering a desire to follow like Jesus, a man after God's own heart. With faith-based poems, I hope to inspire people to draw closer to God while helping bring families closer together with Jesus as the foundation.

I wrote these poems from the perspective that plant-based eating is the only truly ethical choice; we must treasure and protect our beautiful planet; the Law of Attraction is an accepted reality; and what we feel, say and act upon creates the very life we lead. I feel my role as a poet is to mainly get out of my own way and allow the words to flow through me from my higher self or source.

Janet lives with her husband Philip and son John in Brisbane, Australia. They became Christians in 2010 at their home church The River of Life Centre in Brisbane. Janet has always been able to put together rhymes but when she became a Christian at the age of 52 her friend and mentor Christine Gear encouraged her to journal every morning. The verses and poems became a regular occurrence, words from God that would speak to what was occurring in her life. This book brings together two collections of poems. Part one of the book is a collection of pieces that I composed between February 2004 and December 2005. In February 2004 I learned that, due to an eye condition, I would eventually lose my sight, and these pieces reflect both my frustrations and sadness as I learned more about the condition and why it was happening.
