"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," also known as "Alice in Wonderland," is a story loved by adults and children alike throughout the world. Alice is a young girl who falls down a rabbit hole, only to find herself in a whole new world filled with speaking cats, smoking caterpillars and mad tea parties. This 19th-century novel by Lewis Carroll from has seen countless adaptations on the screen, stage and radio. The Oscar-nominated Disney animation Alice in Wonderland from 1951 is one of its most iconic film adaptations.

In the tallest and poorest house in a very narrow winding street, was an attic with a single window. Behind this window, was a bird in a cage; the state of the house and the cage were so miserable that the bird did not even have a cup for drinking: he had to make do with the neck of a bottle closed with a stopper. In "The Island of Doctor Moreau", a man is rescued from death after a shipwreck, only to face something possibly even more frightening. The island he now faces is inhabited by a mad scientist, who is creating a whole new breed of human-like hybrids. What’s more, his methods are far from pleasant. Perfect for fans of the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn. Juliet was used to being around men, but so far none had attracted her attention in such a way. Both the intriguing Stephen Thorne and charming Sir Nicholas Childe had caught her eye, but it was obvious that they were hiding something from her. Despite her suspicion, she finds herself lured in by their mystery. Soon, she finds herself in almost dangerous circumstances.

It consists of some of the author’s best known works such as "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge", "Chickamauga", "A Horseman in the Sky" and many others. The American Civil War, execution of plantation owner, twist endings, stream of consciousness narration, soldiers who are morally challenged, horses running through the sky, murder and supernatural occurrences.

"The Gift of the Magi" is a short story about love, selflessness, sacrifices and struggles. Della and James are a young married couple who want to surprise each other with a secret gift for Christmas. Unfortunately, neither of them has much money yet still they each hope they'll manage to buy something in time and that it will be appreciated. "The Last Leaf" tells us the story of poor Johnsy, who is so sick that her days are counted.
