Berlin. May 1945. A city without institutions in a continent that has become a wasteland. Thousands of former Nazis have been killed in Allied purges, and many more incarcerated in the very concentration camps they themselves established. But the British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, has a problem. One of those former Nazis is actually a British spy, Edward Kayne, who has intercepted a top-secret document that Churchill insists is vital to settling the peace.

Jack Kane is a man on a mission; a secret agency wants him dead... and his family is in the firing line. The Valknut Group, a state-funded private military group, has taken an interest in a UK Lithium mine. MI6 is concerned about that interest and Valknut's wider ambitions to undermine Western powers. Jack Kane and Frank Craven are tasked with travelling to Cornwall on Britain's south-west coast to investigate. A violent encounter ensues, and Kane is forced into battle against skilled and well-armed enemies.
