Sadly Mary E. Bakewell only ever wrote one book: True Fairy Stories, which was published in 1902. However, she lived a very inspirational life, most of it in the frontier west during the 1920s. The little town she lived in was poverty stricken, and Mary did her best to bring relief, solidarity, and a little pleasure to the people of the community, and each year held a Christmas party for all the children. This book has long been out of print.
